As the below-linked article by CTECH (Calcalist) rightfully indicates, the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrates the value of knowledge sharing between Israel and the international community.

Hopefully, we see more collaborations, especially with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which would bring about the nuances of joint technology development relationships.

Indeed, the notion of joint development appears, on its face, as a win-win for both sides. However, the devil is in the details. There are specific nuances in such a deal that, if unbeknownst to one entity, could result in that entity receiving less than the full value of the relationship. Structuring the appropriate joint development deal should include specific and intentional patent development, patent licensing, and monetization strategies that would be essential to ensure both sides flourish.
